Plum Shrine was built for Graveyard keeper of Du Liniang's grave. ( It's a destiny that tutor Chen brought Liu Mengmei to there.) Plum Shrine was a sweet little house for Du Liniang and Liu Mengmei. When Du Liniang came back from underworld, she went to Plum Shrine to find Liu Mengmei. Because she was a ghost so she came to Plum Shrine every night but left there in the early morning.
I didn't want to build a room cause I hoped the audiences could see from every angle. So I created a gate to tell audiences that when performers walk through the gate which means he/she goes in to the inner space of Plum Shrine.
In the Plum Shrine, I put a huge Chinese bed which implies Du Liniang and Liu Mengmei their relationship. And the pattern of the bad is snake-shaped that implies "sex".
Du Liniang's body was buried under a plum three. I found a LED plum tree on the internet which is suitable for this scene.
After Liu Mengmei dug out Du Liniang's body, they took boat to escaped to Hangchow.
The boat was simple, because it was a boat for escaping. It didn't make sense that they took a luxurious boat.
